Funiki Warehouse Upgrade (May 1st, 2026)

Last month we moved to a new, larger warehouse unit to give us more space to store, prepare, pack, and deliver all your orders. Everything took much longer than expected, so it’s been a while since we’ve had a regular shipping schedule without delays.

On top of that, we traveled to Thailand in March to pick up the merchandise that was unfortunately returned to our Bangkok warehouse by customs.
We never shared this with anyone, but this blog feels quite personal and I care about transparency, and since we’ve had a lot of delays, I’d like to open up and be transparent:
Two of us went to Thailand for a short business trip (to talk to GMMTV and to pick up merchandise that was unfortunately returned by customs), but right before we were due to return home, our flight was canceled due to the ongoing war between Iran and Israel.
Our transfer airport for the journey back was bombed and was closed, and shortly after, all air traffic over the Middle East was shut down! Suddenly, we couldn’t return home. We stayed in Bangkok for an extra ten days because every new flight we booked kept getting canceled. Eventually, we managed to fly back via Taiwan.
Obviously, this really disrupted our work schedules, especially with all the items we came to pick up and the LYKN concerts that were going to be held in late March and early April.
We chose not to share this situation online because we didn’t want to worry anyone about whether the lightsticks would arrive on time. The last thing we wanted was to cause concern, while still making sure customers eventually received their orders.
We decided to do express shipping for certain countries and arrange lightstick pick-ups instead. This was the safest option, so that everyone could have their lightsticks in time :)

Around this time (LYKN concerts, moving) another emergency happened, this time a rather personal one. This shop is run by my partner, my sister, and I, and our 14-year old childhood cat was involved in an accident (hit-and-run by a car) that crushed his back leg and required emergency surgery, including an amputation, as well as 24/7 care due to complications.
As a small business, any setback like this has a big impact and affects shipping and response times. We simply don’t have the manpower to keep everything running smoothly when multiple unexpected situations happen at once.
We normally prefer to stay professional and keep personal situations private (or vague), and not share them on Instagram, TikTok, etc. But the truth is, we faced a series of setbacks, and we genuinely regret that this affected shipping and response times.
We likely won’t mention this again after this, as we’d like to move forward! We’re finally back up and running, and our main focus now is shipping out all pending (pre-)orders.
I’m aware that many orders have experienced long delays, and we still need to respond to many incoming messages, and I want to sincerely apologize for that. To help make up for the wait, we’re including free shipping codes in your packages (some of you may have already received an email about this).
